1955 Colt 357 Pre-Python .357 Magnum 4" Factory Nickel LNIB w/ Colt Letter!
If you are an avid collector of vintage Colt revolvers, especially factory nickel guns, then you will want to take a very close look at this little jewel!
‘Dirty Harry’ is thrilled to offer you this early 1955 Colt 357 Pre-Python .357 Magnum revolver (serial # 9059) wearing a 4" barrel and a mirror-like Factory Nickel finish! These early Colt 357 revolvers were rarely offered in nickel, and were usually only found in custom-orders for large Colt distributors. Standard production nickel finishes weren't widely introduced for Colt's flagship .357s until the Python line began offering them in 1969.
The gun you are looking at right now is an absolute show-stopper, and overall condition is rated @ 99+%. It is blatantly obvious that this pistol has been meticulously cared for since new. The factory original nickel finish is bright & shiny like chrome, w/ very minimal signs of use. The factory original full-checkered Target stocks are also in excellent condition w/ only a light rub on the right stock. All mechanical functions are perfect w/ a tight lockup, accurate timing, and minty barrel & cylinder bores. The package includes the original brown Colt leatherette box and Colt ‘Handling the Handgun’ brochure. According to the Colt Archives letter, this revolver was manufactured on October 3, 1955, and shipped on October 5, 1955, to H.H. Harris Company in Chicago, Illinois.
Again, if you are a serious collector who loves vintage big-bore Colt revolvers w/ a factory nickel finish, you would have to search long & hard to find a finer example than the one you are looking at right now!
