1951 Colt Cobra .38 Spl. 4" Duo-Tone Blue Factory Hammer Shroud
If you are the type of collector who is only interested in super-rare, collector-grade Colt revolvers, then you will want to take a very close look at this beautiful pistol.
‘Dirty Harry’ is very happy to offer you this absolutely gorgeous ‘As New’ 1951 Colt Cobra .38 Special 4” Duo-Tone Blue revolver (serial # 9171 LW) w/ the rare factory hammer shroud. This pistol is a show-stopper folks! This very-early Colt Cobra 4” revolver has been in my personal collection for many years and is an investment-grade handgun in every way. Overall condition is as close to ‘brand new’ as you can get. The factory original duo-tone deep blue finish is bright and shiny w/ no signs of handling whatsoever. The matte finish on the frame is also exceptional w/ none of the blemishes you usually find in these areas, and the factory original Coltwood stocks are as ‘minty’ as the rest of the gun. All mechanical functions appear to be perfect w/ tight lockup, accurate timing, and ‘minty’ barrel & cylinder bores.
The package includes an original Colt box w/ the original Colt Cobra 4” gold label, the original white ‘SHROUD’ label, the factory original ‘Shooting Suggestions’ pamphlet, and the original ‘Notice to Gunsmiths’ slip. The box is numbered to serial # 9192, and according to the collector who I purchased this pistol from, the original dealership had ordered two of these exact pistols, and the two boxes were mixed up when he originally sold them. According to the Colt Archives letter, this pistol was shipped on December 14, 1951, and delivered to Buhl Sons Company in Detroit, Michigan, which shows that indeed two of these pistols were received.
Again, if you are an avid collector of rare Colt revolvers, it would be next to impossible to find another example of this exact pistol anywhere @ any price!
