Smith & Wesson K22 Masterpiece Pre-Model 17 Circa 1958
Smith & Wesson collectors, here is a unique pistol that you will want to take a very close look at. ‘Dirty Harry’ is proud to offer you this absolutely beautiful investment-grade 1958 Smith & Wesson K22 Masterpiece Pre-Model 17. Rarely, if ever, have I seen a S&W Pre-Model 17 optioned-out from the factory the way this pistol is, including: red-ramp front sight, white outlined rear sight, Target Hammer, Target Trigger & Goncalo Alves Target stocks. This revolver is an absolute show-stopper folks! Overall condition is 99% throughout, w/ a factory original blue finish that is super bright & shiny w/ no dulling or fogginess, showing minimal signs of handling. The factory original Goncalo Alves Target stocks are as ‘minty’ as the pistol itself w/ absolutely beautiful woodgrain. All mechanical functions are perfect w/ nice tight lockup, accurate timing, and minty bore. The package is 100% complete w/ the factory original S&W two-piece blue box w/ white label (which has the serial number & factory options handwritten on the bottom in white grease pencil), the original ‘Helpful Hints’ brochure, and the original S&W cleaning tools including the original sight tool, in the original wax paper sleeve. According to the letter by S&W historian Roy Jinks, this pistol was shipped w/ the factory options listed previously on January 24, 1958, and delivered to Bernard Gitlin in Hartford, CT. The letter includes the additional prices for the various factory options, which I have rarely seen in a Roy Jinks letter. If you have been searching for an investment-grade 50’s-era Smith & Wesson K22 Masterpiece Pre-Model 17, you would have to search long & hard to find a finer pistol & overall package that this!
