Colt Detective Special 2" Blue w/ Hammer Shroud Circa 1964
Colt collectors, if you love Colt D-frame pistols as much as I do, then you will want to take a very close look at this little jewel! ‘Dirty Harry’ is proud to offer you this absolutely pristine 1964 Colt Detective Special .38 Special revolver (Serial # 851674), featuring a 2” barrel, factory original blue finish, checkered walnut stocks w/ silver Colt medallions, and a factory hammer shroud. Rated @ 99+%, overall condition is about as fine as they come, period. The factory original blue finish is simply excellent w/ little to no signs of handling whatsoever, and the factory original checkered walnut stocks are as mint as the gun itself. There are no signs that this revolver has been fired since leaving the Colt factory. All mechanical functions are perfect, with tight lockup, accurate timing and minty bore. These shrouded Colt Detective Specials are perfect for carrying, however this piece is an investment-grade pistol that belongs in a collection. The package includes the factory original Colt two-piece woodgrain box, which is numbered to the gun, the original ‘Handling The Gun’ brochure, and (2) letters of authenticity. According to Smith & Wesson historian Roy Jinks, this pistol was shipped on September 26, 1964, and delivered to Goodmans Inc. in Saint Louis, Missouri. Again, if you are a fan of Colt D-frame revolvers, then this scarce 1964 Colt Detective Special w/ its factory hammer shroud will put a huge smile on your face!
