‘Dirty Harry’ is very proud to offer you this absolutely mint 1971 Auto Mag Early First-Year Pasadena .44 AMP Semi-Automatic 6.5” Stainless Steel (Serial # 499), in its factory original black plastic case, and a plethora of other collectible Auto Mag goodies to go along with it! If you are an avid collector, or simply a fan of first-year Auto Mag pistols, this package is an absolute must have!

In 1970, Auto Mag Corporation president Harry Sanford opened a factory in Pasadena, California. The first pistol was shipped on August 8, 1971, and the factory declared bankruptcy on May 3, 1972, after making fewer than 3,000 pistols. The company opened and closed several times from 1973 thru 1982 under several different names, including TDE, OMC, Thomas Oil Company, High Standard, and AMT. Under-pricing of the Auto Mag pistol made ultimate success impossible, as one analysis claimed that the Auto Mag Corporation lost more than $1,000 on each pistol, which sold wholesale for around $170 and retailed for $217.50 in 1971. The early first-year 1971 Auto Mag pistols will always be the most collectible and certainly the most sought after. The pistol gained even more notoriety years later, when Clint Eastwood as 'Dirty Harry' featured an Auto Mag in the motion picture 'Sudden Impact'. We purchased this pistol over 10 years ago from a dealer who acquired it from its original owner, and it has been stashed away ever since.

Overall condition is simply excellent throughout, and it’s quite apparent that this pistol was meticulously maintained and cared for over the past 53 years. The stainless-steel finish is bright & shiny, no scratches, dings, or distractions, and all of its mechanical functions are simply perfect.

The extensive package includes the original Auto Mag black plastic case, which is in excellent condition, rare L.E. Jurras custom leather case, (2) original Auto Mag magazines w/ the initials of the original owner on the base, which was done at the factory for special orders, original Auto Mag oil bottle, the original black plastic checkered stocks, (2) sets of custom wood stocks, a set of smooth black plastic stocks, and 300 rounds of original Auto Mag .44 AMP ammunition.

Again, if you are a fan of the first-year 1971 Auto Mag pistols, and you have been searching for just the right one for your high-end collection, you will want to take a very close look at this amazing Auto Mag package!
